SCANDI RANCH
This Napa-inspired one-and-a-half story modern-rustic ranch home uses light and volume to create dynamic spaces. The project essentially test-fits each of the Laura Marion’s essential beliefs about design: Beauty, simplicity, low-consumption sustainability and affordability can overlap with good design. Pure geometric forms derived from the local vernacular are timeless. Solid, void and light are the architect--and interior designer's--best tools.
We anchor corridors with an unexpectedly big apertures to the landscape at the opposite end of the vector whenever we can. It draws us through the main axes of the space and expands the house's footprint beyond its own walls.
